Hello Mustang Parents - HAPPY FRIDAY!!
In just one week the newsletter will be coming home with your child. Even though this isn’t the first issue, it will be the official launch. I can just see in now… balloons everywhere, ticker tape cannons going off, everyone cheering… yeah ok, that’s not really going to happen. J Seriously though, those of you who know me know that I’m a pretty quiet person. I’d rather work behind the scenes to get things done. I love progress! The newsletter is something that I really enjoy putting together and each year I try to make it better and more informative than the last. This year I am adding a section with helpful information for general use. Next week’s issue will have information about unclaimed funds that the State of California has. I read an article today in the Union Tribune that the state controller’s office has $7 billion dollars of unclaimed money. This money can come from many different sources – closed bank accounts, escrow accounts, utility accounts, etc. Find out if you are owed money! It only takes a few minutes. http://www.sco.ca.gov/upd.HTML
Searching the data base is really quick and easy. If your name comes up there is usually an address or a city associated with the account so you’ll be able to tell if you really have money owed to you or if it’s someone else with the same name. I bet you’ll be surprised what you find. Call your family and friends too and pass on the information and help someone out!
DON’T FORGET!!!
The fall fundraising event “E4E” is next week. Have your child(ren) dress accordingly and be sure to have them put on sunscreen! Pledges: If you no longer have the form that came home a few weeks ago, download one from the PTA website. Every bit helps so ask everyone you know if they would like to help out.
The October break will be here before you know it so if you happen to know of some fun stuff to do let us know. Find Murdock PTA on Facebook and tell us what you’ll be doing over the fall break.
I hope that everyone has a fantastic weekend!
