Wow! Murdock has a blog.
Double WOW! I’m the one writing it…
(Insert laughter)
For those of you I haven’t met, my name is Tina Hanson. I have a 6th grader in Mrs. Brown’s class and a 3rd grader in Mrs. Saunders class. I am very excited (and a bit nervous) to be writing the school blog. I have been out of the PTA loop for a while, but I am now ready to jump back into the game. I plan to be busy this year. I’ll be putting together the newsletter, helping out with the 6th grade activities, and putting together the student directory. It seems like it has been a long time since I have been able to do much more than help out in the classrooms, so I am looking forward to this year.
To be honest, I was very excited when Jamie Ward emailed me about the idea of writing a blog. At first I thought it was a great
idea and that the format of the blog would be a great way to keep families updated. I was so excited! Then after a while it sank in that she was asking ME to do it. The ME who hasn’t been involved much, the ME who spent the last few years avoiding everything to do with school, and finally, the ME who wasn’t so sure I could do it. There were many times that I wanted to call or
email Jamie to tell her to get someone else, but I couldn’t come up with a good enough reason. My excuses even sounded lame to me - which was pretty bad. So, here I am writing Glenn E. Murdock’s first blog.
Now let’s get down to business…
The Grandparents Lunch was on Friday. I hope that everyone’s grandparents were able to come and enjoy the wonderful
lunch. Our amazing PTA President, Mo, informed me that students would be doing interviews, so be sure to check them out in the next newsletter (which will be posted by the lunch tables until further notice) and in the blog post below. Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who helped put this great event together!! They made it special for not only the grandparents who came, but for the children as well.
Halloween Happening will be coming up next month. I hope that those interested in helping out were able to go to the informational that was held on the 5th of September. If not, there will be letters coming home and information on the PTA’s website. Be sure to mark your calendars though so you don’t miss it - SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26. It is always a spooktacular event! I want to thank EVERYONE who will be a part of this worthwhile event.
Have a great week!
Tina Hanson
